Purdue Varsity Glee Club Concert

On Friday, Mar. 21 the Purdue Varsity Glee Club from West
Lafayette, Indiana performs at First United Methodist Church of Palo Alto, 625
Hamilton Ave. at 8pm. Tickets available at the door for $20 for adults and $10
for students. Cash or checks payable to Purdue University will be accepted.



Founded in 1893, the Purdue Varsity Glee Club is one of the
proudest and richest traditions of Purdue University and the State of Indiana.
With integrity, passion, unparalleled showmanship and attention to every
detail, the men of the Glee Club represent different backgrounds and hometowns
across the country, consistently maintaining a high level of academic
excellence with majors ranging from engineering to education. 



The Glee Club has inspired audiences around the world with
performance tours to Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico, China, the
United Kingdom and South Africa. Last May, the Glee Club embarked on its tenth
European tour with appearances in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and France
culminating with a performance at Notre Dame Cathedral.

This dynamic musical troupe employs a versatile repertoire
including gospel, vocal jazz, swing, contemporary hits, romantic ballads,
classical choral selections, barbershop, folk melodies, patriotic standards,
familiar opera choruses, country and novelty tunes, and utilizes small groups
and outstanding soloists to further enhance each show.



Under the direction of William E. Griffel, the Purdue
Varsity Glee Club continues to share a sound all its own through one-of-a-kind
arrangements in tailor-made performances for audiences of all ages.
