Apple II Turns 35

The Steves—Jobs and Wozniak—demoed the Apple II at the West Coast Computer Faire on April 16 and 17, 1977.

It's quiet in the office complex of 20863 Stevens Creek Rd.—the location of Apple's first office outside of the Jobs home garage—almost as if the center doesn't know that the world is celebrating the birthday of Apple II.

The two Homestead High School graduates, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak developed Apple II, which brought computing to millions of new users with its built-in BASIC programming language, color display and user-friendly case.

The Apple II was introduced at the West Coast Computer Faire in San Francisco and though not in production, nostalgic fan boys can still purchase one on sites such as eBay where one that needs a little keyboard work can be had for $319.99.

Happy Birthday Apple II!
