A Cat Called Wanda

Wanda is up for adoption for a mere 12 bucks!

Wanda is a female, brown tabby, Domestic Shorthair kitty available for adoption for just $12 at Palo Alto Animal Services as part of its annual "Home for the Holidays" program.

She is spayed, estimated to be about 4 years old, and has been at the shelter since Sept. 7.

Palo Alto Animal Services is among six shelters in Santa Clara County that hope to find homes for some 1,300 animals and are offering $12 adoption fees -- down from $90 to $120  -- for any adult cat or dog through Dec. 31.

The $12 fee covers all benefits such as spay or neuter surgery, microchip implantation and registration, vaccinations, defleaing and deworming and FIV/FeLV testing for cats.
