Local Startup Launches Service to Get You Hired

Palo Alto start-up Get Hired launched a free daily email service designed to connect employers, recruiters and hiring managers with up to five job seekers per day, on Thursday in New York City.

Called the “Job Seeker Spotlight,” the feature allows employers who sign up to
specify their location and the type of candidate being sought. Each day Get Hired pre-screens job seekers who have signed up in advance and give each candidate suggestions to improve their profile.

“As soon as the job seeker and Get Hired team are satisfied with the profile,
it is scheduled to appear in the daily Spotlight email – a direct link to hundreds of hiring managers in the job seeker’s industry and geographical area,” Get Hired co-founder and CEO Suki Shah said.

Potential employers can then review the candidates’ resumes, video introductions
and letters of recommendation to find the best fit for their company. For now, the industries covered by the spotlight are customer support, healthcare, sales/business development, administration and technology.

“Get Hired launched the Job Seeker Spotlight in response to ongoing feedback
from both job seekers and employers that the hiring process is a long one,” Shah said. “Job seekers can feel confident that they are getting the targeted exposure they are looking for…Hiring managers will benefit from a daily reminder of the best candidates in their area – and their industry – who are actively looking for work.”

According to Shah, the Job Seeker Spotlight will expand to 20 more metropolitan areas by the end of the year, which will likely include the Bay Area. Users anywhere in the country can sign up now and wait for the service to arrive in their area.

Launched in this year by Naresh Patel and Suki Shah, Get Hired offers itself as a hiring solution for small and medium-sized businesses, letting employers screen candidates through video, audio and virtual interviews.
