Pick Your Coastal Cleanup Day Project

Grab your gloves and don your tennies—the wetlands and Bay, the beaches and ocean—all need your help.

The annual Coastal Cleanup Day is an opportunity for all of us to show a little extra love to the beaches that make California so unique. In our state last year, 63,000 volunteers collected and astounding 590,000 lbs. of trash.

This Saturday is Coastal Cleanup Day and environmentally-minded Palo Alto residents may choose the Bay or the coast to volunteer. There are a wealth of opportunities, from nearby East Palo Alto and Menlo Park to Half Moon Bay or beyond. If you’re looking to really get out of town, Santa Cruz and Monterey counties are looking for volunteers.
