Palo Alto Sport Shop and Toy World Joins Yiftee, Connecting Residents with Local Businesses

Palo Alto Sport Shop and Toy World has decided to collaborate with Yiftee in order to provide a quick, easy and innovative way for Palo Alto residents to acknowledge life’s special and not-so-special moments. Yiftee (www.yiftee.com) is a creative new iPhone app and Internet service that lets consumers send small, unexpected gifts among friends, family and colleagues quickly and easily through email, mobile and social media. Yiftees are real gifts (e.g. a latte, glass of wine, frozen yogurt, manicure, rose or boutique item) that the recipients pick up at a favorite local café, restaurant, shop, boutique or florist. It is exciting to see Palo Alto Sport Shop and its products become a part of the Yiftee family. Any Yiftee user can now send their friends and family in Palo Alto a variety of sporting goods or toys for their children from the beloved neighborhood Sport Shop that has been serving the community since 1930.

Miguel Natario, Systems Administrator at Palo Alto Sport Shop, when asked what encouraged him to join Yiftee, said, “I thought (Yiftee) was a great idea and I saw a lot of potential with this. There was no thinking involved. I knew it right away that this was a great idea. It allows us to provide better service to our customers.”
Along with the residents, Yiftee seeks to provide local merchants with a platform to expand their reach in the neighborhood. These businesses are the backbone of our economy and in these times of economic recovery, local businesses provide great value to their community.

 Miguel reflected, “It is definitely very difficult being a small business, especially in this economy but we are very fortunate to be in this area because of the access to the resources that help us be online and be on top of the cutting edge technology.” Miguel believes that the support of Silicon Valley and Palo Alto residents has been great for small businesses. In return, they provide the best possible service they can to their customers. 

He said, “It is always nice to shop online because of the convenience. But if you really want instant gratification and service and want to know more about the product that you are buying, small businesses are staffed with employees who have the knowledge to give you that information. We can provide a level of service that you may not find at a bigger chain store.”
