Yes, it happens. People try something new with the best intentions. The world seems to not stand still. Just when I get used to doing something a certain way, I have to change how I do it. Anyway, that is true with electronics.
I try to stay current and up-to-date. Last weekend, I was definitely outside my comfort zone. Let me start at the beginning. My two year old laptop was stolen. I have become accustomed to my laptop. I have my iPod Classic synced to my laptop. For those of you not in the know… an iPod Classic can only be synced to one device. Now, all my music that I have purchased and own is only on my iPod. If I connect my iPod to another computer, the music will be lost.
I need a laptop for work. My husband loves his Surface so I purchased a Surface Pro. Well, how frustrating can that be? Very frustrating. It has a touch screen, and I dislike using a pad without a keyboard and a mouse. After all my hand has become familiar to the feel of that mouse. And, Microsoft and Google are not the best of friends so my Gmail was having issues syncing to my new computer. I have lots of contacts for professional and personal reasons. Now, they are in a different place on my computer.

This is the same with new hearing aids. The technology is so different than last year. it is hard sometimes to explain to our customers how much better it will be. The young kids at the Microsoft Store were becoming frustrated at me because I wanted my new computer to act like my old computer.
Hearing aids now communicate via blue tooth to cell and landline blue tooth phones. Hearing aids “talk” to each other to improve clarity in noisy situations. Just jumping in with both feet may be the only way to “get it”. I had to spend time getting my new computer to where I was comfortable with the new layout and functions. But, for many it is out of their comfort zone. Take a chance. Try the new technology and hear what you have been missing.
