Poll: Most Popular Cat Names Of 2011

Take our poll and post a photo of your cat!

According to Veterinary Pet Insurance Co (VPI) and Petfinder.com, a roundup of the most popular pet names in 2011 saw a new top name for felines, although the trend to use traditionally human names continues.

The top five cat names in 2011 were Bella (new winner), Max, Chloe, Oliver and Lucy. Rounding out the top 10 were Shadow, Smokey, Tiger, Charlie and Tigger.

So while human names rule the roost for dogs, there are still lots of traditional "animal" names in the cat world.

Take our poll, add your cat's name in the comments if it did not make the list, and most importantly, post a photo of that kitty!

Tommy Kat and his sister Millie Meow enhance our lives. We hope that every pet lover looking for an animal to provide a forever home for will seek out those at the animal shelters and animal rescue centers.

Archie. Or "arrrrrr chieeee!" when he is getting into mischief. Archie is a rescued cat - the best way, as far as I'm concerned, to get a cat. And, please, when you adopt a cat, please don't look at only the kittens. Look for an adult cat. They need rescuing too. Archie was bout a year old when we got him.
