Please define "snark" ... this is a word I think I've only heard in the last few years. Did it exist previously?

Hi Bruce! Snarky has been around for a long time, but I think "snark" is pretty new...it's got a funny sound don't you agree?

"Snark" is only in the online dictionaries -- a combination of snide + remark.
