Tam High Grad Rips Dog Interaction in Strawberry

In a Letter to the Editor, Larkspur resident Carol Butler recounts a bad exchange with a dog owner near Woodland Pet Foods & Treats.

I love dogs. I have had them all my life. I do not put them in my purse,
take them in stores, hide them in the movies or tie them to food tables.

On a recent afternoon, I exited Woodland Pet Foods & Treats in Strawberry, a large pet store, across a narrow street from a cafe with some tables basically on the sidewalk.

An aggressive breed of dog, tied to a table, lunged at me as I walked by, nearly unseating its owner. The woman flew into a rage, with 40 or so people watching, and ordered me "to go away." "Just go away – get out of here!" she shouted.

I have small Labradoodle. Not relevant.

But where did this sense of entitlement come from, where did good judgment and respect for others morph into an assumption this behavior is tolerated? This is an owner in need of training.

Irvine High School Grad Responds ... This article has a terrible headline. It has nothing to do with Tam High, or a dog for that matter. May I suggest a better headline: "Insolent Woman Encountered in Strawberry Village"

What does this have to do with Tam High?

Jack and Elizabeth - This letter was written by a woman who graduated from Tam High and who now lives in Larkspur. That was not made clear (and should have been) at the bottom of the letter. Sorry for the confusion.
