Not exactly breaking news, but I wish you'd cover the history of Marin. Why don't you invite people to upload their old photos of Marin neighborhoods with a bit of description? We walk all over the place, and I'm always wondering, what went on here 50 or 100 years ago? All the walking paths that were former railroads. Anybody still around who used to commute via these trains? How people travelled through Marin before Hwy 101 was built. When were the various neighborhoods built? We live on "Picnic Hill;" where does it get its name?

Hey Mike, We used to have a great column about the history of San Rafael. Check here if you haven't seen it already: http://sanrafael.patch.com/topics/traces-of-old-san-rafael Also, Marin History Museum was interested in blogging for us, so hopefully we'll have more of these kinds of features soon.

Mike, Visit the Marin History Museum located in the Boyd Gate House at 1125 B St. in San Rafael. The docents there have boundless knowledge of the history of San Rafael. Also their historian, Jocelyn Moss is the premier resource for information on the city and the county. Ray
