101 Off-Ramp Cleared After Injury Crash

A car veered off the roadway and into bushes earlier this morning.

Crews have cleared an off-ramp on U.S. Highway 101 in Palo Alto after a solo vehicle crash in the area left multiple people injured, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Around 2:40 a.m., a car heading north on Highway 101 near the San Antonio Road off-ramp veered off of the roadway and into some bushes, according to the CHP.

Witnesses reporting the crash said multiple people inside the car had visible injuries.

No information about the nature of those injuries was available this morning.

The CHP reported that fire crews would need to cut trees off of the roadway in order to remove the vehicle. Fire crews blocked the San Antonio Road off-ramp for nearly two hours during the emergency response to the crash, according to the CHP.

The ramp reopened some time after 4 a.m., according to the CHP.

With the big mess involved in widening 101 Rengsdorff and San Antonio side roads and off ramps, I'm surprised there are not more accidents. Why are they doing this what seems to be a waste of money anyway?

The accidents around this area are the direct result of confusion, construction and lack of highway signs. So are these programs to create jobs or just to satisfy Google and the increasing overpopulation in the Valley, and unsustainable growth?
