Boys' Joy Ride Ends With Crash In Downtown Palo Alto
A group of teenagers who stole a car in San Jose had their joy ride cut short when they crashed near the Caltrain Station
Three juveniles who crashed a stolen Toyota Corolla on Alma on June 29 were cited for vehicle theft, hit-and-run, possession of stolen property, according to the Palo Alto Police Department.
The boys took the car from San Jose and headed north. At around 10 am, the driver lost control of the car, drove over a curb and hit a car parked in the downtown Caltrain station parking lot. From there, they drove the car another 40 feet or so before jumping out of the car and fleeing towards University Avenue. The three boys were nabbed by officers near Cowper Street and University.
Both the stolen Toyota and the parked car that was hit only suffered minor damages.
