About 20 firefighting personnel help put out quarter-acre wildland blaze Tuesday afternoon.

Written by Sheila Sanchez

Cal Fire personnel quickly extinguished a wildland fire Tuesday afternoon near the David Bruce and Byington wineries in the Los Gatos Mountains.

According to Cal Fire Capt. Alex Leman, about a quarter of an acre burned on Bear Creek Road shortly before 12:30 p.m.

The cause of the fire, which was moving up the hill toward the vineyards, is under investigation, Leman said.

A total of 20 firefighting personnel, including a hand crew, helped put the fire out quickly with the help of a water tender.

No structures were threatened, Leman said.
