CHP Holds Car Seat Safety Fair
The California Highway Patrol sponsored an installation event in East Palo Alto last weekend.
California law requires children to be strapped into child seats until they’re at least 8 years old or until they are at least 4 feet 9 inches tall. But an improperly installed child safety seat could end up harming a child in an accident.
With that in mind, the California Highway Patrol holds periodic safety seat fairs, including one at the Home Depot in East Palo Alto last weekend.

According to Art Montiel, Public Information Officer for the CHP out of their Redwood City office, “people lined up before we even opened.” A total of 63 seats were installed, a dozen of which were donated. Twelve certified technicians pitched-in to help.
Montiel wanted to publically thank all of the volunteers, from technicians to Home Depot employees.
