A spokeswoman for the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office reports that an investigation into the cause of death continues for two people whose bodies were found at a burning home in Palo Alto Friday night.

She also told Patch that the coroner’s office is not ready to release the names of the victims. That may come later today.

The fire destroyed the home at 988 Embarcadero Rd. It was so unstable that investigators were unable to enter it Saturday to complete their on-site investigation. However, agents from the federal bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) and local investigators were able to enter the home on Sunday.

The cause of the fire has not been released.

No firefighters were injured battling the blaze, which was brought under control just 10 minutes after firefighters arrived. They prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent homes.
