Drunk East Palo Alto Man Shoots Himself in Foot
The gun is reportedly still out there somewhere.
An intoxicated East Palo Alto man accidentally shot himself in the foot this morning, a police sergeant said.
A 20-year-old man had been drinking alcoholic beverages with his friends in the 2200 block of Terra Villa Avenue shortly after 7 a.m. when he accidentally shot himself in his right foot with a handgun, East Palo Alto police Sgt. Jeff Liu said.
The man was taken to a hospital and treated for his injury, according to Liu. He admitted to police what happened and was booked into the San Mateo County Jail for misdemeanor negligent discharge of a firearm, the sergeant said.
The firearm he accidentally shot himself with has not been recovered, Liu said.
