East Palo Alto Man Shot in the Head

Shot Spotter alerted police to the shooting.

An East Palo Alto resident was shot in the head this afternoon but sustained only a superficial wound, police said. 
     
Police were then called to the 2300 block of Palo Verde Avenue at 1:44 p.m. after sensors detected the sound of gunfire in the area, according to Detective Steve Ong. 
     
Residents then called to report a gunshot victim, Ong said. 
     
The victim, an 18-year-old East Palo Alto resident, was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle for treatment of a superficial gunshot wound to his head.
