The California Highway Patrol is responding to a fatal accident on U.S. Highway 101 in Sunnyvale this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident on northbound Highway 101 near Lawrence Expressway was reported shortly before 2 a.m., the CHP said.
The accident involved one vehicle with five people inside, according to the CHP. A Sig-alert was issued at 3:01 a.m. and the northbound Highway 101 off-ramp to Lawrence Expressway has been closed as the CHP conducts its investigation.
There is no estimated time of when the off-ramp will reopen, according to the CHP.
No further details were immediately available.
