Fatal Crash Victim Identified As Southern California Man

Renzo Paul Rossi, 58, died at the scene in a car crash on Highway 280 on Friday night.

The Santa Clara County medical examiner's office Tuesday identified a man who died in a crash on Interstate 280 near Palo Alto on Friday night as 58-year-old Renzo Paul Rossi of Canoga Park, in Southern California.

The crash occurred at about 10:15 p.m. Friday on southbound
280 north of Page Mill Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Rossi was driving a 1991 Toyota Camry south on the highway when, for unknown reasons, he went off the right side of the roadway and hit a metal guardrail, the CHP said.

Palo Alto firefighters responded and pronounced Rossi dead at the scene. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call CHP Officer J. Hermansen at 650-369-6261, ext. 317.
