The young woman had just parked her car when the incident happened.

A woman who parked her car in a city-owned parking lot in Palo Alto late Tuesday night reported to police that a man exposed himself to her. It happened in Lot 7 in the 300 block of Sherman Avenue.

Police Sgt. Kara Apple says the 9-1-1 call was received at 11:14 p.m. “The investigation revealed that the victim, a woman in her twenties, had just parked in the lot on the side closest to Birch Street. She sat in her car to send a text message. Within a minute, she looked up and noticed the suspect standing at the front passenger side corner of her vehicle. She saw that his pants were pulled down, and that he was masturbating while looking at her. She immediately drove away and called 9-1-1 from her cell phone.”
