Man Falls Down Elevator Shaft

Palo Alto Firefighters rescued the construction worker from an elevator pit.

A construction worker plunged down an elevator shaft from the second floor of a building Wednesday. The Palo Alto Fire Department rushed to the scene to rescue the 46-year-old man.

The worker was pulled from the shaft and sent to Stanford Hospital for treatment, according to Palo Alto Online. The extent of his injuries have not been disclosed.

The workplace accident happened at VMware, 3401 Hillview Ave., which is undergoing renovation.
