Man Held at Knifepoint on Cowper Street

Three suspects fled by car after mid-day robbery and made off with man's cash.

A man was robbed Monday afternoon in Palo Alto by three suspects who threatened him with a knife on the 700 block of Cowper Street.

The victim told police that the three men, possibly Hispanic and in their 20s, approached him on foot, drew the knife and forced him into a secluded driveway. They demanded his cash, which he said he turned over, and then fled the scene in a late-1990s, two-door Mitsubishi. The car was black, he told police, with two red racing stripes, stretching bumper to bumper. They were last seen heading east. The victim was not injured during the robbery.

"The Palo Alto Police Department is actively investigating this robbery," according to a department statement.
