Man, Woman Jailed for Elder Abuse, Napa Cops Say

Louis deWit, 53 and Jennifer Ashcraft, 42, were arrested Sunday afternoon, according to Napa police. Arrest information does not indicate convictions.

A Napa man and woman were arrested Sunday afternoon on suspicion of elder abuse and battery inflicting serious bodily injury, according to an arrest summary from the City of Napa Police Department:

On 10/28/12 at approximately 1218 hours, Officers responded to the 10 Block of Newell Circle for a reported assault.

Upon arrival Officers learned that Louis DeWit (53yrs. of Napa) and Jennifer Ashcraft (42 yrs. of Napa) got into an argument with an elderly victim.

During the argument, it became physical, in which the DeWitt and Ashcroft struck the victim causing injury.

Both DeWit and Ashcroft were taken into custody and booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections.

So sad who could ever hurt an elder i was raised allways respect in help ur elders sad hope they get a hefty sentence .

This is at least her second arrest for violence on Newell in less than four months, according to what we have heard from Napa police.

These are the kinds of stories I want to hope are wrong. They're not wrong often enough, though.

These are they type of people who abuse pets, children and their spouses. So typical of these kinds of people to go after those who can't defend themselves.
