Mental Health Evaluation for Arson Suspect

His criminal case is at a standstill until the evaluation is complete.


The man accused of starting a series of fires that scorched four acres in the will undergo a mental health evaluation. Following the evaluation, a determination will be made if he’s fit to stand trial.

Criminal proceedings are at a standstill until the evaluation is completed, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

, 50, is being held in the Santa Clara County Jail on a $500,000 bail.

The Aug. 8 fire was quickly extinguished by multiples agencies. No one was injured and no structures were lost.
