Missed it? Read the Palo Alto Police Virtual Ride-a-Long

Curious what a Friday night patrolling Palo Alto is like? Chief Dennis Burns conducted a 'virtual ride-along' about the department's DUI enforcement.

What better way to spend a Friday night, but with Palo Alto Police Chief Dennis Burns on Twitter.

Chief Burns joined the nighttime patrol teams around the city on Aug. 16 as part of the Santa Clara County "Avoid the 13" task force, when the 13 police agency have heightened DUI enforcement.

"As long as I’ve been a police officer, I have never gotten used to the sorrow I feel when I’m called to the scene of a crash where someone has died as a result of drunk driving," said Chief Burns.  "Yet this senseless loss of human life is a daily reality all over America, year after year.  We are committed to ending this tragedy in Santa Clara County."

Between the hours of 6 p.m. and 2 a.m., Burns answered questions via Twitter. Follow the thread here through Storify!
