Palo Alto PD Issues July 4th Safety Reminder of Fireworks Laws

Announcement from the Palo Alto Police Department:

With the drought and high fire danger, it's more important than ever this Fourth of July to be mindful that fireworks are prohibited in Palo Alto.

Like we've done for the past several years onJuly 4, a cross-Departmental collection of City staff will be on duty to ensure the safety of our residents and community.

Our officers will join up with personnel from the Palo Alto Fire Department, staff from the City's Office of Emergency Services, park rangers from Palo Alto Open Space, and our Emergency Services Volunteers, with the common goal of deterring crime and preventing fire on Friday night, especially in our open space areas.

Help us to prevent a wildfire, and help us to keep our community safe this Fourth of July.

Please call our 24-hour dispatch center at 650-329-2413 if you see people setting off fireworks or any suspicious behavior. If it's an emergency, please call 9-1-1 immediately.
