Palo Alto Police Join Torch Run Today for Special Olympics; Expect Delays on El Camino Real

News from the PALO ALTO POLICE DEPARTMENT:

Expect slight delays on northbound El Camino Real this afternoon around 4 p.m., as our officers participate in the 2014 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Northern California! 

We'll be taking "The Flame of Hope" at our southern border from our friends at the Mountain View Police Department and the City of Los Altos Police Department, and running it north to Palo Alto High School. Our runners will be escorted by a number of police cars and police motorcycles (like this scene from last year's run) to ensure their safety.
