Redwood City Police have arrested a man for a bank robbery that occured in that city this week. Just as in Palo Alto, the robber vaulted over the counter and stole money. However, PAPD is not saying whether this is a copycat robbery or if the Star One robber is behind bars.

Perron released a statement Thursday reading, "It’s too early in the investigation for us to know (if the cases are connected). The cases and suspect description are certainly similar. Our detectives are actively working with the Redwood City Police Department and conducting other follow-up investigation. If our investigation, once completed, shows that their suspect or anyone else is responsible for our robbery, we’ll put out a news release right away."

In Palo Alto, the first 9-1-1 came just after 11 am from a customer who escaped from the credit union while the robbery was in progress. The first officer arrived on the scene just one minute later, but the suspect was already gone.

Just one witness reported seeing a gun.

If you know anything about the robbery, phone police at 650-329-2413
