Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle: Mendocino Closed

Mendocino Street is blocked off after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Altadena Friday morning. The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the incident.

Earlier: The California Highway Patrol is still investigating a pedestrian-vehicle accident that happened Friday morning on Mendocino Stree, a CHP official told Patch.

The accident occurred near the Altadena Golf Course and Mendocino Street is blocked off due to the investigation.

Why are they concealing the identity of the driver?? And, did the accident happen in the morning or evening? There are conflicting reports.

Your comments are not correct. The driver was driving eastbound in the westbound lane, allegedly fell asleep (how possible, considering he was going to the golf course to GOLF), hit my brother, then veered again and hit the Mercedes, which was also travelling East to go into the golf course parking lot. My brother was killed on impact, sent through a steel telephone support, severing his spine. The driver walked away.

Marty, his name was Robert Ott...he spent 37 years in the restaurant/hospitality industry, 26 years at Claim Jumper.
