Person Struck, Killed on Caltrain Tracks in South San Francisco

For the second time in less than 12 hours, a person has died on the Caltrain right-of-way.

A Caltrain struck and killed a person on the tracks at the South San Francisco station tonight, Caltrain officials said.

The train was empty and being moved south to be used in the morning commute and struck the person at about 8:50 p.m.

It is the second Caltrain fatality today. A man was struck and killed just north of the San Carlos border in Belmont at 12:55 p.m.
