The police investigation led to 34-year-old Jerry Silveira of Santa Clara. Police say Silveira stole oxycodone, methadone, and morphine from locked cabinets.
Detectives stopped Silveira’s vehicle as he left work on March 4 and served a search warrant. They found “methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and some of the stolen prescription narcotic drugs in his vehicle.”

Detective Sergeant Brian Philip says that “Later that evening, detectives served the search warrant at Silveira’s residence and recovered the rest of the prescription narcotic drugs stolen in the burglary, as well as additional methamphetamine. In all, police believe Silveira stole more than 10,000 pills. Due to the fluctuation in pricing of prescription narcotic drugs on the black market, police are unable to provide an estimated street value of these pills.”
