Police Release Photo of Credit Union Robber
Police say the man vaulted over the teller counter, grabbed cash from teller drawers, then jumped back over the counter.
Palo Alto Police say a man vaulted over a teller counter in a daring robbery of the Star One Credit Union on El Camino Real Wednesday morning. They released a photo from a surveillance camera of the suspect.
“One witness reported that they may have seen the suspect holding a handgun,” according to police. No one was injured.
Police say the man vaulted over the teller counter, grabbed cash from teller drawers, jumped back over the counter and ran out of the credit union.
The first call came into 9-1-1 at 11:08 a.m. The caller was a customer who fled the credit union and said the robber was still inside. The first officer arrived on the scene just one minute later, but the suspect was already gone. Witnesses say he fled on foot eastbound on Ventura Avenue.

The suspect was not arrested.
Witnesses say the suspect is 5'7" to 5’9” tall, and weighs 175 to 180 pounds. He was wearing a pair of reflective Oakley-style sunglasses, a short-sleeved dark polo shirt, baggy blue jeans, and two-toned blue and white tennis shoes.
