Police Teen Explorers Volunteer at Toy Distribution

PAPD Explorer Post 61 helped out in last weekend's Toys-For-Tots drive in San Jose.

News from the Palo Alto Police Department:

PAPD Explorer Post 61 helped out the United States Marine Corps Reserve last weekend with their annual "Toys for Tots" campaign.

For the second year in a row, our Explorers traveled to the Marine Corps Reserve Center in San Jose and volunteered to help prepare donated toys for distribution.

The mission of the "Toys for Tots" Program" is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and to distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

For more information about the program, see http://san-jose-ca.toysfortots.org/.

Members of PAPD Explorer Post 61, most of whom are students at Palo Alto high schools, are Department volunteers who are learning about a career in law enforcement.

They perform various community service events throughout the year, and assist our officers at special events.
