Sean Lanthier Won! Palo Alto Has No. 1 'Blazing Hot' Firefighter!

We don't have official confirmation, but, according to the San Francisco Firefighters Cancer Prevention Foundation Facebook page, Palo Alto firefighter and paramedic Sean Lanthier took first place in Saturday's Blazing Hot Firefighter Competition at the Butterfly Restaurant in San Francisco.  

Lanthier, was representing the Palo Alto Fire Department and SF Firefighters Cancer Prevention Foundation, on a team tasked with creating the "Bay Area's Best Slider," up against other regional firefighters and chefs.

Lanthier's first place winnings of $5,000 will go to the cancer prevention group from the charity cook-off sponsored by Civil Service Employees Insurance Group

Competing, along with Lanthier, was: Danny Garcia - San Francisco Fire Department; returning champion James Brunson - Vallejo Fire Department Solano Napa Firefighters Foundation; and William Douglas - Oakland Fire Department.  

Participating celebrity chefs were: Rob Lam, Butterfly Restaurant; Gaston Alfaro, Half Moon Brewing Company; David Lawrence,1300 on Fillmore ; Kathy Fang, Fang Restaurant.

Judges were: Paige Meyer, Fire Chief of the San Ramon Fire Department; Harry Crusberg Jr., owner of Firefighter Insurance Services (FIS); Tamara Palmer, Zagat; Hoss Zare, owner of Flytrap.
