Shooting Investigation Leads to Searches, Arrests, Guns, Drugs in Palo Alto & East PA

Cops served search warrant on Monday to home on Alma Street in Palo Alto.

Detectives arrested three men and seized a cache of firearms and marijuana in East Palo Alto on Monday while investigating a shooting that injured a 20-year-old man earlier this month.

On May 8, East Palo Alto police responded to a report of shots fired in the 2200 block of Ralmar Avenue and located a 20-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds.

Detectives uncovered information in connection with the shooting that led to search warrants being obtained for a home in Palo Alto and a home in East Palo Alto, police said.

On Monday, police concurrently served the search warrants -- one in the 3200 block of Alma Street in Palo Alto and the other in the 2400 block of Fordham Street in East Palo Alto.

San Mateo County Sheriff's Office SWAT teams and investigators from the Palo Alto and Menlo Park police departments assisted East Palo Alto investigators.

Police said the search warrants resulted in the seizure of handguns, pistols, a high-powered rifle, an automatic shotgun, body armor, ammunition and accessories.

A large amount of marijuana and gang-related items were also seized. The three men were arrested for various weapons and narcotics offenses.

Two of the suspects are residents of East Palo Alto and the third is a resident of Fremont. Their names were not immediately available.

East Palo Alto police said they are still actively investigating the shooting and are seeking witnesses.
