Suspect With 'Frizzy' Hair Robs Bank in Palo Alto

The robbery occurred late Friday afternoon at a bank in downtown Palo Alto.

Police are looking for a suspect with "frizzy" hair who robbed a Chase Bank in downtown Palo Alto late Friday afternoon.

Officers responded to Chase Bank, located at 300 Hamilton Ave., at about 5:45 p.m. after receiving a 911 call that the bank had just been robbed, Palo Alto police said.

The suspect had entered the bank and presented a note to the teller demanding money. The note claimed the suspect had a firearm, though one was never seen, police said.

The teller complied with the demand, and the suspect left the bank on foot, and was last seen walking out the door onto Bryant Street. No suspect vehicles were seen.

Witnesses described the suspect as either a male or female of unknown race and unknown age. They said the suspect was about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighed 160 pounds, and had waist-length brown hair that they described as “frayed” and “frizzy.”

They said the suspect was wearing a black top, khaki pants, and a black baseball hat. The suspect was carrying a black backpack.

No Chase Bank surveillance photos of the suspect are available for release at this time.
