Police Seek Suspects in Tuesday Footlocker Burglary

Two men smashed a window and stole merchandise before fleeing in a truck.

Palo Alto police are still looking for suspects in burglary that occurred Tuesday morning at a Footlocker on 3225 El Camino Real, according to Palo Alto police detective Max Nielpko.

“The suspects are still outstanding,” said Nielpko. “If there are any folks with info, we ask them to call Palo Alto police or report it anonymously.”

Two men broke the window of the store, stealing $1,400 in clothing and breaking a $15,000 window, said Nielpko. The missing items included Nike shoes valued at $100 per pair and jackets that cost $80 each. The thieves did not touch the cash register, though.

Police arrived at the scene at 4:50 a.m. after a burglar alarm went off, and found the store’s front window smashed.

The store’s surveillance camera captured two men donning dark pants and dark hooded sweatshirts, said Nielpko. They backed a newer model white Ford F-150 truck with no plates up to the store window before breaking it.

Officials sent out a K-9 unit, but were not successful in finding the thieves.
