Update: Pedestrian Seriously Injured on El Camino in Redwood City

The auto/pedestrian accident caused major delays during rush hour.

Update:

The accident has been cleared and traffic is flowing smoothly on El Camino.

According to the San Jose Mercury News, the pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was transported to Stanford Hospital.

News from the Atherton Police Department:

Southbound El Camino at 5th Avenue in Redwood City is closed to all traffic until further notice, and Northbound El Camino at Almendral in Atherton has only one traffic lane open until further notice, due to an auto vs. pedestrian accident.
