Updated: Two Dead in Palo Alto House Fire

Two people are confirmed dead in Friday night's fire.

Update, 10:10 p.m. Friday:

Lt. Zachary Perron of the Palo Alto Police Department told reporters at the scene of the fire that the home will be secured overnight, and arson investigators will enter the home Saturday morning to search for the cause of the fire. Perron called the arson investigation routine in cases such as this, and not an implication that arson was the cause of the fire.

Perron was asked if there was any indication that the victims were dead before the fire started. That will be explored during the investigation.
