Update: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16: Valley Christian High School Chief Operating Officer Steve McMinn said campus administrators did receive an anonymous report that two missing San Jose teen girls were safe.
"This information was forwarded to the San Jose Police Department on Wednesday morning. The entire Valley Christian community is praying for their safe return to their parents," McMinn said.
Update: 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16: There are unofficial reports that two San Jose teen sisters, reported missing by their father Tuesday, have been found safe and unharmed, school officials at Valley Christian High announced this morning.
No other details are being shared at this time about the girls' absence from their home since Sunday evening.
However, both the father, Chuck Dorcich and San Jose police spokesman Albert Morales said the girls are still missing.
The investigation into their disappearance and exact location is still ongoing, Morales said.
Principal Mark Lodewyk said the girls attended the school until Sept. 20 when their mother legally pulled them out of the campus and took them to Pismo Beach, where they have enrolled in school there.
Since that time, the father had regained legal custody of the girls and they were to return to their father, Lodewyk said.
A San Jose man issued a desperate call to the public Tuesday to help him find his missing daughters Madeline Dorcich and Emily Dorcich, whom he said disappeared sometime Sunday evening near Del Mar High School.
Chuck Dorcich has even created a Facebook page to spread the word about the teens, ages 16 and 13, respectively, as he explained an Amber Alert hasn't been issued yet since the case is not considered "high-danger" enough such as a child abduction.
Also, he said on the page, in order for an Amber Alert to be issued, authorities need a car description, make, model, color and, hopefully, a license plate number. There is no car involved that the family knows of and nobody saw them being forced into a vehicle, he said.
The girls attend Valley Christian High School, 100 Skyway Drive in San Jose.
Madeline is described as 5-foot-1, weighing 105 pounds, with blonde hair, blue eyes and last seen wearing dark jeans and a dark gray hooded sweatshirt.
Emily is described as 5-foot-3, weighing 120 pounds, with blonde hair, blue eyes and last seen wearing dark jeans and a "graphic" T-shirt.
The girls were last seen at Del Mar High School, 1224 Del Mar Ave. in San Jose, around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, according to the father.
On the Facebook page, he posted: "Just want to say THANK YOU to all the folks who came out this afternoon to pass out flyers. We had about 30 folks pass out over 1,500 flyers in the San Jose area! Laura and I are overwhelmed by the show of support. This will come as a surprise to most: I'm speechless! Thank you everybody. Please continue to pray for my girls quick and safe return. I love you all!"
Anyone with information about the girls' whereabouts is asked to call the San Jose Police Department by dialing 911 if foul play is suspected and 408-277-8900 or 311 (311 services are not currently available from calls originating on some cellular telephones) for non-emergency tips.
