Vehicle Crashes on 780 in Vallejo, Blood Tech Called

The crash on the westbound Interstate 780, west of the Glen Cove Road exit ramp, was reported at 3:42 p.m.

A vehicle crashing on the 780 Freeway in Vallejo Friday prompted the call of a blood technician to the hospital where the motorist was taken, the CHP reported.

The crash on the westbound Interstate 780, west of the Glen Cove Road exit ramp, was reported at 3:42 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol incident log.

A sedan ended up facing the wrong way on the freeway and a big rig driver stopped to ensure the car did not get hit again, the log read.

Traffic in the far left lane was affected.

The blood technician was sent to Kaiser Permanente Vallejo Medical Center, the CHP reported.

What the heck is a "blood technician" and why was he or shecalled? Are we talking about a phlebotomist? A blood splatter expert? What? Why is the blood technician important? If you're going to write a new story, report the facts in a way that makes sense to the reader. I've never read an accident report that discusses a "blood technician." What caused the crash, who responded (police, fire), What kind of injuries did the victim sustain? Where is the human element to this story? Why is this story important ? All these elements are missing.
