Week in Crime: Man Assaulted Downtown

The following information was supplied by the Palo Alto Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Downtown Assault: An unknown suspect attacked a man with a wooden club or bat at University Avenue and Emerson Street Tuesday, inflicting unknown injuries on him after he left a bar. According to emergency room staff, who called police, the attacker hit the man several times at approximately 1:53 a.m.

8:30 a.m., 2088 Edgewood Drive: A blue 2007 Honda Odyssey was reported stolen.

12 p.m., 400 block of Fulton Street: An unknown suspect stole some tools from outside a construction site.

4 p.m., 1111 Alma Street: Someone reported receiving verbal threats.

4:25 p.m., 900 block of Waverley Street: Police arrested a man on charges of being drunk in public.

10:53 p.m., 2400 block of Birch Street: Police arrested a man on charges of being drunk in public.

 

Saturday

2:15 a.m., 250 University Avenue: Police arrested a man on charges of being drunk in public.

6:05 a.m., 400 block of Ventura Avenue: Janaya Michelle Solgos, 30, a Brentwood resident, was arrested and booked on suspicion of two felony drug charges.

10:11 a.m., 30 block of Waverley Street: An attempted armed-robbery was reported.

10:28 a.m., Unknown Location, Tasso Street: An attempted armed-robbery was reported.

8:57 p.m., Stanford Shopping Center, 180 El Camino Real: Police cited a woman on charges of petty theft / shoplifting.

 

Sunday

10:45 a.m., Unknown Location, Sutter Avenue: Police arrested someone on charges of domestic violence and battery.

11:15 a.m., 3500 block of Foothill Expressway: A minor-injury accident happened.

12:30 p.m., 845 Ramona Street: An unknown suspect broke into a car and stole items.

3:33 p.m., Unknown Location, Stanford Shopping Center: Police arrested someone on charges of petty theft and shoplifting.

 

Monday

1 p.m., 126 East Charleston Road: An unknown suspect fraudulently used someone's identity.

2:45 a.m., Manresa Lane: Someone reported a case of possible child abuse.

2:53 p.m., 4138 Abel Avenue: An unknown suspect used someone's credit cards to make fraudulent purchases.

11:11 p.m., 400 block of Waverley Street: Police arrested a man on an outside warrant.

 

Tuesday

4:53 p.m., 220 University Avenue: Police arrested a man on charges of being drunk in public.

7:20 p.m., 741 De Soto Drive: An unknown suspect entered a home and stole several personal items.

9:32 p.m., 95 University Avenue: Police issued someone a notice to appear in court on an outside warrant.

 

Wednesday

10:22 a.m., 2600 block of Birch Street: Police cited a man for driving with a suspended or revoked license.

12:30 p.m., Stanford Shopping Center, 180 El Camino Real: Someone reported a case of possible employee embezzlement.

5:38 p.m., Unknown Location, Portage Avenue: Police cited someone on petty theft and shoplifting charges.

7:25 p.m., 408 Grant Avenue: An unknown suspect smashed a car window and stole personal items.

9:02 p.m., 33 Encina Avenue: Police arrested and booked Cory Jones, 25, residence unknown, on felony charges of making terrorist threats.

 

Thursday

9:14 a.m., 722 Channing Avenue: An unknown suspect entered a car, rummaged through the glove box, but did not take anything.

1 p.m., 1385 Dana Avenue: An unknown suspect stole a laptop computer worth more than $400.

5:16 p.m., 451 University Avenue: An unknown suspect used someone's debit card to make fraudulent purchases.

10:21 p.m., 4300 block of El Camino Real: Police issued someone with a notice to appear in court on an outside warrant.
