Get Free Flood Warning Text Alerts

There was street flooding in Palo Alto during recent storms, but all creeks remained within their banks. There’s no guarantee that will always be the case.

The Santa Clara Valley Water District, which oversees the creeks and works to prevent flooding, has a text alert system for mobile devices. Text “water” to the short code 84444 to sign up. You’ll get a confirmation text.

In addition to warnings about flooding you’ll receive tips for flood preparedness and other information.
