Mayor Espinosa Backs Campbell Councilman's Run For State Assembly

Campbell Councilman Evan Low announced that he will be running for State Assembly.

Campbell Councilman Evan Low may be heading to the State Capitol.

On March 10, he announced his 2012 campaign for State Assembly. Five mayors from around Silicon Valley were present at the press conference and spoke about their time spent with Low as well as their praises for the young councilman.

"Evan is someone who is truly devoted to public service, transparency in government and accountability to the people he serves," said Palo Alto Mayor Sid Espinosa in a release.

"As our state faces historic challenges, it is important that we elect leaders who will be a strong voice for local communities and have a record of being responsive to the people they serve. Evan Low is that kind of leader," Espinosa said.

Another local collegue and friend, Cupertino Mayor Gilbert Wong also expressed his support.

"Evan Low understands the needs of our community and what it will take to continue to ensure we remain at the forefront of the 21st century economy," Wong said in a release. "We need leaders in the State Assemble who think regionally."

From Mountain View, Mayor Jac Siegel also spoke at the event.

"Evan's commitment to protecting the environment and promoting safe, healthy and sustainable communities is unmatched," Siegel said in a release. "Communities like Mountain View need leaders in the State Assemble who understand how to balance protecting the environment while not sacrificing economic growth."
