New Palo Alto City Leadership Set
New councilmembers have been sworn-in; mayor selected.
The wishes of Palo Alto voters can now be seen at city hall, as newly elected council members were sworn-in Monday night. The nine-member council then unanimously selected Greg Scharff to be mayor.
Scharff’s goals are completing the Mitchell Park Library, implementing the city's bicycle and pedestrian master plan, and reinvigorating California Avenue through a major streetscape project, according to the San Jose Mercury-News. "At the end of 2013, I want all of us to be able to look back and say, 'Wow, we accomplished a lot,'" the paper quotes Scharff as saying.
