Expect Traffic Delays on Foothill Expressway Starting Today

Work gets underway Thursday and will last up to three months.

 

PG&E’s ongoing gas pipeline project through Palo Alto starts a new phase Thursday, according to the City of Palo Alto.

Crews will begin running the pipeline under Matadero Creek adjacent to Foothill Expressway. Northbound traffic on Foothill Expressway will be impacted from the Miranda merge to beyond Page Mill Road.

You can expect several days of loud "hammer boring" during this period, 
Work hours will be Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Weekend work is also likely. 

The work could be delayed because of endangered species and possible archaeologically-significant artifacts.
