Go Dog, Go! Upcoming dog-friendly events

Looking for something different for you and your dog? Check out these fun events.

Whether you’ve got a dog or love being around them, these dog-friendly events offer something different from the normal parks, beaches and shopping centers. So mark your calendars, grab a leash and give yourself and your dog a treat!

Yappy Hour at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay
Thursday, July 26
5:00 to 8:00 PM
Half Moon Bay

Grab Fido and stop by the resort’s Gazebo Lawn for schmoozing with fellow dogs and dog lovers. Canine clientele will delight in complimentary treats and flavored waters while their owners enjoy specially priced beer, wine, and "yappetizers." A portion of all proceeds will go towards The Peninsula Humane Society.


15th Annual Bay to Barkers Dog Walk and Festival

12:00 to 4:00 PM
Golden Gate Fields, Albany

Help support care and adoption of local homeless cats and dogs by joining the dog-walking fundraising festivities benefitting the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society at Golden Gate Fields in Albany. Activities include animal-themed crafts, canine contests and a reunion parade for adopted dogs.


Dog Day of Summer

Join the OFJCC for a free, dog-friendly open house for the whole family. Enjoy dog tricks, a costume contest, pet education, raffle giveaways, fitness center tours, frozen doggie treats and a Kid Zone with bouncy house, playground and fun activities. Bark in the Park 2012

William Street Park, San Jose

The 16th Annual Bark in the ParkTM canine celebration is a unique festival for the whole family with contests, herding demonstrations, fly ball and more. Bark in the ParkTM is a fundraising event hosted by the Naglee Park neighborhood's Campus Community Association. All proceeds benefit the CCA, Humane Society Silicon Valley, and San Jose Animal Care Center.


Poodle Day

Saturday, September 29
9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Various locations in Carmel

Poodle Day kicks off with a parade for poodles, poodle mixes, and their human companions followed by other activities at The Crossroads shopping center. Afternoon events include off-leash beach play and other dog-friendly activities around Carmel. Evening cocktail parties allow dogs to lounge in style as their human companions gather for drinks, hors d’oeuvres and conversation. Proceeds from Poodle Day benefit NorCal Poodle Rescue.
