49ers Coach Jim Harbaugh to Help Paly Celebrate New Stadium

School to hold ribbon-cutting event starting at 7:10 p.m.

At Friday Night's game against San Benito High, Palo Alto High will inaugurate its brand new football stadium

The event, which will begin at 7:10 p.m. before the 7:30 p.m. kick-off, will include a Ribbon Cutting ceremony, a performance of the national anthem by the Paly Pep Band, and the coin toss by San Francisco 49ers Coach and Paly Honorary Captain Jim Harbaugh.

"Having a Paly grad like Jim Harbaugh who has been so successful in the sports world come out and celebrate this event with us just brings home the truth for our students that with dedication and hard work anything is possible," said Principal Kim Diorio added.

The new Viking Stadium features updated concession stands and restrooms, ADA compliant grandstands, and better storage for track and football equipment. This project is part of the Smart Schools Bond Measure that was successfully passed in 2008 by supportive PAUSD voters.
