Big Game: Stanford Stomps Cal 21-3

The Cardinal came away from Memorial Stadium with the coveted Stanford Axe.

No. 22 Stanford obliterated California 21-3 Saturday afternoon in a game known throughout the Bay Area simply as the Big Game.

The Cardinal came away from Memorial Stadium in Berkeley with the coveted Stanford Axe.

It was 115th meeting between the schools.

Stanford scored first, punching the ball into the end zone on a seven yard run in the first quarter. Two more touchdowns were added in the second quarter, while the Bears scored their only points, a field goal, in the second quarter.

Neither team notched points in the second half.

This is the third consecutive Big Game win for Stanford over Cal.
